How long does Aiden keep coffee hot?

Aiden's carafe is meant to be a reliable thermal companion to your brewing routines. It's designed to keep your coffee hot for as long as possible, but providing a specific standard is a tricky endeavor that relies on multiple factors:

• Brew size - Aiden's carafe is large enough to accommodate 1.5 L of coffee, which means that there will naturally be more open air above smaller batches of coffee brewed, especially when brewing less than 450ml. Because of this, smaller batches will cool more quickly than larger ones.
• Brew temperature - Coffee brewed at higher brewing temperatures will generally retain heat longer than those brewed at lower temperatures.
• Brew duration - Generally, shorter brews will retain heat longer than ones with extended blooms or pulse durations

How can I ensure my coffee stays hot for as long as possible? 

If your coffee isn't staying hot enough for as long as you'd like, there's no need to worry! We've listed two tips below that should help.

• Choose the right vessel for the job - If you're going to brew a larger batch of coffee with the batch basket, the carafe should work well. However, if you're brewing a smaller amount with the single-serve basket, we'd recommend brewing into something a bit smaller. Our favorite option is one of our 12oz Carter Move mugs, but it can be anything that you rely on to keep your coffee hot!
• Preheat before you brew - Try running an instant brew cycle without coffee before you brew your coffee. The hot water will help preheat the interior of the carafe (or anything else you're brewing in)--just make sure to adjust the water amount accordingly!

Does Aiden have a hot plate?

No, unlike many other coffee brewers on the market, Aiden does not feature a hot plate. This was an intentional choice because hot plates continue to "cook" the coffee while it's sitting in the carafe. This causes the coffee to taste burnt and/or bitter, which no one likes!
