How do I descale my Aiden Precision Coffee Maker? (Getting Started With Aiden Pt. 11)

Like any precision tool, Aiden requires occasional maintenance to keep it at peak performance. This means you’ll need to descale Aiden at a frequency determined by the water quality you use with Aiden.

Watch this short video (also linked below) to learn how to descale Aiden. Please make sure you are using a high quality biodegradable and phosphate-free coffee machine liquid descaler. We recommend Urnex Liquid Dezcal. We also have descale concentrate available here

Please note:

If you run into an "add water" message the first time you try descaling, let the descaling mixture sit in the water tank for about 5 minutes before trying again. It's also possible that you may need to bypass the add water message a few times before the process succeeds. The descaling process involves dissolving any scale in the water lines, so if there's a lot of buildup preventing the mixture from passing through easily, it might need a little more time to clear everything out.

It's also worth noting that the descaling process is broken up into three main sections, which are approximately 16, 10, and 10 minutes long. If you're not able to move it through to the next stage within 5 minutes of each finishing, your Aiden will go to sleep and will not count the descaling cycle internally (though the solution will still be working, of course).
