We apologize for any confusion, but the slower approach to your target temperature as your Pro/Pro Studio kettle heats was an intentional change with the latest firmware update, version 1.2.5.
As the EKG has become popular with more people, in more places, and for more uses, we’ve heard consistent feedback from both tea drinkers and pour-over brewers who wanted more precise control across a wider range of temperatures and volumes. This update was designed to gently glide into your target temperature and help prevent overshooting.
You may also notice a few other changes. For example, the temperature display is now closer to real-time, and once the kettle is in Hold mode, you might see small temperature fluctuations. That’s completely normal and can happen if you remove the lid, pour some water out, or add water back in.
With all that being said, we totally understand the inconvenience of your kettle suddenly heating more slowly than usual. We can assure you that our product team has been closely monitoring feedback for this firmware release, and they're already working on testing an updated version that they hope to release very soon. They're confident it’ll improve heat times and get you back to the experience you’re used to—plus a few extra tweaks! Thank you so much for your patience in the meantime.
