How do I keep the Clyde Stovetop Tea Kettle clean and spotless?

Below are some reminders and tips to keep your Clyde Kettle looking its best.

Cleaning

  • Stovetops have a tendency to collect oils and food particles. Hand wash the kettle after each use, using only warm water or a combination of water and mild, liquid dish soap. Do not use chlorine, bleach, or other chemicals.
  • Only use your hands, a soft sponge, or soft nylon bristle brush to clean your kettle. Do not use abrasive scouring pads, steel wool, stiff bristle brushes.
  • Let the kettle air dry or towel dry thoroughly.
  • If any sign of water deposits form inside of the kettle, a 50/50 vinegar and water solution works wonders and should remove these. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning.

Tips

  • Ensure the bottom of the kettle is clean and dry before using.
  • Allowing traces of salt or oil to remain in contact with any part of the kettle during use may cause corrosion to develop.
  • Never heat the kettle while empty. While all materials are made of stainless steel or heat-resistant nylon, overheating the kettle increases the risk of fire and may melt the nylon parts of the kettle.
