How do I keep my Stagg/Raven Stovetop Kettle clean and spotless?

Below are some reminders and tips. We've also attached the full guide that comes with your kettle to this article, just in case.

Cleaning

  • Stovetops have a tendency to collect oils and food particles. We recommend hand washing the kettle after each use, using only warm water or a combination of water and mild, liquid dish soap. Do not use chlorine, bleach, or other harsh chemicals.
  • Only use your hands, a soft sponge, or soft nylon bristle brush to clean your kettle. Do not use abrasive scouring pads, steel wool, or stiff bristle brushes.
  • Let the kettle air dry or towel dry thoroughly.
  • If any sign of corrosion is discovered, apply some compounding polish on a soft sponge and rub it in. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning.
  • Water or mineral deposits inside your kettle are normal occurrences. A 50/50 vinegar and water solution works wonders and should remove these. Please rinse thoroughly after cleaning with this solution.

Tips

  • Ensure the bottom of the kettle is clean and dry before using.
  • Allowing traces of salt or oil to remain in contact with any part of the kettle during use may cause corrosion to develop.
  • Never heat the kettle while empty. While all materials are made of stainless steel or heat-resistant nylon, overheating the kettle increases the risk of fire and may melt the nylon parts of the kettle.
  • In light of recent feedback, we have decided to no longer state that our Stovetop Kettles are induction compatible. During initial testing, the product worked with induction stoves in the US, but it has been brought to our attention that the compatibility is not the same internationally or with some of the newer induction hobs. Our Stovetop Kettles are still fully compatible with coil top electric and gas stoves, and we are working swiftly to update our product guides and packaging to reflect the changes to induction compatibility.
