How do I keep the Ode Brew Grinder Gen 2 clean?

Please see the General Cleaning instructions in the Safety Manual.

If you start to notice more coffee retention than when you first used your Ode (grinds stuck in the exit chute), don’t worry! This is normal. We found during our testing that the anti-static technology in our grinder will work for about 60 cycles (light/medium roast) before it needs to be cleaned to operate at its best performance.

Many factors can contribute to how often you should clean the chute and anti-static pins, including the roast level, processing, varietal, and even growing elevation of the coffees you are using. For example; natural process coffees and darker roasted coffees tend to produce more microfines during grinding, which contribute to more frequent necessary cleanings.

To clean your Ode Gen 2, remove the catch cup and use the provided brush to “swipe” around the inside of the exit chute (where the coffee grounds come out) and the anti-static pins just to the side of the chute. This will clean the chute and help keep the anti-static technology working well!

Remember: The cleaner you keep your grinder, the better the anti static mechanisms are going to work. This will help reduce the amount of coffee retained in the grinder.
