Introduction
It's never fun to go to take a sip of your beverage of choice and smell anything other than what you're able to sip, especially if it's not a pleasant smell! This can happen with mugs or tumblers that have ceramic or stainless steel interiors if the lid is secured and moisture is trapped inside. It's also possible for an odor to form on the silicone gasket wrapped around the bottom of the lid.
There's no need to worry though! Trying the steps below might just remove that unwanted odor.
Cleaning Methods
Washing With Dishsoap
If you haven't already, we recommend giving your Carter a thorough washing with dish soap and then letting it air dry overnight. The most important step here is to make sure all of the pieces (the body, lid, gasket, etc.) are separate from one another and can dry completely before using them again. Doing this as frequently as possible will help make sure your Carter stays fresh!
Soaking
If a normal wash doesn't help, our next recommendation would be to soak the inside of your Carter with dish soap and boiling water for a few hours. This can do wonders for getting rid of strong or lingering odors that routine washing can quite remove.
