Why is there a notch/hole in my Atmos lid gasket?

You may notice a notch/hole in the Atmos lid gasket.  This is by design to help release the air when the release button is pressed.  

Please note, It does not release air while the Atmos is sealed and will not reduce the time that it stays sealed.
